Cupping Therapy
What is
Cupping?
Cupping is a therapeutic technique in which specialized cups are applied to the skin to create negative pressure. This suction increases blood flow, and gently lifts the skin and underlying tissues to the targeted area, which helps improve mobility and address areas of restriction or discomfort. The technique is commonly used to address areas of tightness, discomfort, or limited mobility.Cupping treatments can sometimes leave temporary marks on the skin, such as redness or bruising. This is a normal response and happens because of increased blood flow to the area. These marks are usually not painful and typically fade within a few days to a week.
Benefits of Cupping
Cupping may help reduce muscle tightness and restriction, improve local circulation, and promote tissue relaxation. It may also assist in decreasing pain and soreness, improving range of motion, and enhancing overall movement quality. Some individuals may experience a sense of relief or improved comfort following treatment as the tissues respond to the change in pressure and stimulation.
