I have to explain this often..

People are often unclear about what a physical therapist does. Here is how I boil it down. A physical therapist is a human movement specialist. An engaged PT can look at any human ( and some work with animals) with or without a pathology and determine how they are moving and what it takes to get them to move to their greatest potential. This can range from the most elite athlete to someone how is completely paralyzed. Human movement is a powerful example of intricate design. From the small hair cells in the canals of the inner ear to the proprioceptors within each joint and muscle to the trillions of neural fibers that coordinate the input and output messages, it’s a lot to consider. It’s taken me 19 years of practice as a licenced PT with 10 years of school and mentorship before that, just to feel like I have a little understanding of the miraculous design of the human body. Human movement still amazes every day.
